The Quiet Before - Handcrafting: Leather Wrapping.

July 30, 2014

One of the thing we love the most is creating new products, something that wasn’t available before our line of glasses and sunglasses has been launched and, in order to do that, we need to look back to what has been done for decades, we need to study how things have been done so far, re-think, re-invent, come out with creative ways to use traditional Italian handcrafting techniques.

In this post we’d like to share how leather wrapping is patiently done, entirely by hand, using sharp knife to finish-off all the tiniest details and small brushes to glue the parts to the acetate frame.

The pictures also show how two different kinds of leather are mixed on the V2-S in order to obtain a unique finishing with diagonal cuts on the front, where lizard and crocodile imprinted calfskin parts are joint together.

Leather wrapped frames are comfortable and durable luxury items that can be worn everyday just like leather purses and shoes. Leather will naturally change color slightly giving to each frame it’s own unique tint, differentiating your glasses from anybody else’s.

The Quiet Before leather glasses and sunglasses can be bought in the best boutiques and optical stores or directly from our online store.

All leather glasses and sunglasses can be bought with 20% discount until the end of September using the discount code 20%OFFLeatherTQB at checkout, don’t miss this offer!

Here’s the Leather Collection Page where you can see all our Leather Glasses and Sunglasses.
